American National Bank hosted a fundraising luncheon, bake sale, and raffle to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Hope on Friday, May 20th. We raised over $1,400.  Thank you to our clients for their generous donations and to Smitty’s Old Fashioned Butcher Shop for donating the delicious hot dogs we all enjoyed.  Join us at the Relay on Friday, June 3^rd at Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale.

This month’s Turnaround Management Association luncheon was held on May 18th at the Banker’s Club in Miami.  Amy Engelberg, Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, American National Bank participated in a panel discussion moderated by Linda Jackson with guest speakers Corali Lopez-Castro, Carol Fox and Johanna Armengol.  The panel’s topic was “The Women of Bankruptcy:  Oh, the Troubles We’ve Seen!” and included discussions on the South Florida economy, banking and bankruptcy trends, advice on how to approach your lender if you are in need of relief, and what to expect in the market in 2012.

On Thursday, May 5^th, Ginger Martin, President and CEO of American National Bank, served on a discussion panel at the 2011 CPAs in Industry Conference hosted by the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants held at The Fort Lauderdale Marriott North.

Ginger’s presentation focused on “Borrowing from Banks – How to make your company more appealing to bankers.”

ANB participated in the 4th annual 4Kids BIG Cardio event Saturday, May 7th at Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill. 4Kids brings HOPE to the neediest in our community by helping every child find the home they desperately deserve. On Friday, May 6, 2011, members of the American National Bank team had the privilege to attend the Chick-fil-A Leadercast Voices of Change 2011 presented by Lifework Leadership at Calvary Chapel.
