American National Bank was awarded Business Leader Media’s award for Business Leader of the Year 2012 for the top business in the banking category in the South Florida Region.  Ginger Martin, President & CEO, accepted the award on behalf of the Bank at an event on Tuesday, May 22, at The Banker’s Club in Miami. Business Leader recognized American National Bank as the best in its industry.

The purpose of these awards is to recognize and honor the top businesses in specific business categories in their market. Business Leader evaluated top businesses in each of approximately 35 categories, such as law, accounting, insurance, healthcare, commercial real estate, education, and telecommunications.

American National Bank held its May blood drive on Friday, May 4th.  Community Blood Centers of South Florida reported that 12 heroes donated blood.  Each person received two free passes to the Improv Comedy Club for their donation.  Thank you to all donors for giving the gift of life!

ANB served as a sponsor for the Rocketown fundraiser held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at their facilities in Pompano Beach. In attendance from ANB was Ginger Martin, President and CEO, Amy Engelberg, Exec. Vice President and Chief Lending Officer, and Esther Martinez, Senior Vice President. Rocketown is a non-profit recreation, entertainment, and ministry center for youth in Broward County.

Danny Kanell (former FSU football player, and NFL player for the NY Giants, Atlanta Falcons, and Denver Broncos) is the president and executive director of Rocketown. He leads a staff of six who provide daily activities for youth, such as free tutoring, skate park, concerts, and youth group activities.  To learn more click here …

The ANB team participated in the Relay for Life/Hope in Oakland Park on Friday April 27th. By conducting several bake sales, a barbecue, and a fundraising dinner hosted by Zuckerellos Restaurant, we were able to raise over $4,400 for the American Cancer Society. The ANB team would like to thank our clients, team, and Board members, who generously donated and supported our efforts. The ANB team also congratulates the 29 teams that participated in the relay and raised over $45,000 for this important cause.
