BauerFinancial ratings are out for the 4th quarter 2024 and American National Bank remains a 5-Star rated Bank. This designates ANB as a “Superior” bank recommended by Bauer and marks 43 consecutive quarters in which the Bank has maintained Bauer’s highest rating.
Bauer Financial is the leading independent financial institutions rating firm. Their star ratings classify each institution based upon a complex formula factoring in current and historical data, including profitability, asset quality, loan delinquencies, and other factors. However, the first level of evaluation is the capital level, which is a bank’s main indicator of its overall strength and stability, as it is considered a cushion for the unexpected.
ANB has a very strong capital position, with Tier I Capital of $62.77 million at 12/31/24 and continues to rise. Bank regulators set capital requirements using 3 levels: minimum, adequate, and well-capitalized. The leverage capital ratio for qualifying as “well-capitalized” is 5%. ANB’s 14.66% capital ratio is almost three times higher than what is required to be considered well-capitalized and continues to increase each quarter.
